It’s now undergoing its second phase of tests after proving effective against pancreatic tumors first in mice and then in more than 100 humans.”

The treatment denies tumor cells blood and with chemo treatments, tumors are destroyed.

Israeli doctors have recently restored the eyesight of more than 2,000 people in seven countries: Nepal, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Cambodia, the Maldives and Ethiopia.”

The doctors go abroad and give free eye surgeries to people in the developing world. They also teach their doctors how to give these eye surgeries and train them in the use of new technologies to better help their people. 

Hebrew Univ discovers tobacco may help cure malaria

Professor Vainstein and his graduate student Moran Farhi have developed genetically engineered tobacco plants carrying genes encoding the entire biochemical pathway necessary for producing artemisinin. In light of tobacco’s high biomass and rapid growth, this invention will enable a cheap production of large quantities of the drug, paving the way for the development of a sustainable plant-based platform for the commercial production of an anti-malarial drug.”

Artemisinin is the main active ingredient in current malaria treatments and drugs.

Hamas imposes closure on own doctors for WHO mtg

The delegation was to participate in a medical conference in Jerusalem, and Israel had given a green light for all 19 of its members to travel through its territory. Hamas vetoed the participation of five people who had been selected by the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, which is led by rival terror group Fatah. As a result, the World Health Organization called off the participation of the entire delegation.”
