“Titled ‘Rebirth and Resurrection,’ the statue was produced by Israeli artist David Susanna, and was installed in front of the municipal offices and temporary Israeli hospitals established in Yanmei-Sanriku.”

Israelis to send chametz to Japan

Pesach, or Passover, is the holiday that is one week starting from tomorrow. Hopefully, some of your families or yourself will start cleaning your kitchen and homes in preparation for the holiday to rid it of chametz, or leavened bread. Traditionally, Jews have sold it before the holiday.

Why not donate it to Japan like the Israelis? 

Chabad joins in to help Japan

The Hasidic movement Chabad-Lubavitch has joined in the international aid efforts to help Japan. Chabad centers in Hong Kong and Tokyo have centered their focus on Sendai, whicih was one of the cities most heavily hit by the earthquake and resulting tsunami. Thank G-d for these people!

Israeli doctors en route to Japan

Israeli doctors are accompanying aid bound for Japan including food items, Geiger counters, portable toilets, medical equipment, and clothes. 

Japan’s ambassador to Israel was among those who arrived at Ben-Gurion Airport ahead of the delegation’s departure. He expressed his country’s gratitude for the assistance, and noted that Israel is among the first nations to send medical teams to the disaster zone.”
